You'll be Spalce's third security hire, working directly with the Head of Security and embedded across product and platform teams. You'll inherit a mature-ish program — we already run SAST, DAST and SBOM pipelines, are mid-flight on SOC 2 Type II, and have an active bug-bounty program.
Your customers are our engineers, our customers' security teams, and our regulators. Done well, the role makes the company faster, not slower.
What you'll do
We hire for outcomes, not tasks. Here's what success looks like in your first year.
Lead threat modelling on every new product surface launching in the next 12 months
Drive Spalce to SOC 2 Type II completion and start the ISO 27001 program in parallel
Mature our vulnerability management — SLAs by severity, dashboards by team, and friendly automated nudges
Coach engineering teams on secure-by-default patterns through code review, lunch-and-learns and paved-road libraries
Run incident response for security incidents end-to-end, including external communications
Be the technical lead for our largest banking customer's annual security review

Compensation
Transparent, top-of-market, and adjusted thoughtfully for region of residence.
$90K – $135K
$90K – $135K base salary, calibrated to seniority and region of residence
Stock options
0.05% – 0.12% in stock options, four-year vesting with a one-year cliff
Performance
Annual performance bonus targeting 10% of base
