Every candidate goes through a four-stage filter: CV and portfolio screening, a 90-minute technical interview with a senior Spalce engineer, a take-home or live coding exercise scored against a calibrated rubric, and a behavioral interview. Roughly 4 percent of applicants make it through. By the time you interview, the technical bar is already validated - your interviews should focus on team fit, communication and domain context.
Engagements start with a 30-day pilot for either side to exit without penalty, then run monthly with 30-day notice. For dedicated squads we offer 3, 6 and 12-month commitments at progressively better rates and avoid 24-month lock-ins. Conversion to direct hire is free after 12 months and available earlier with a tapered placement fee. We're transparent about this from day one because hiding conversion options creates perverse incentives.
Staff augmentation means our engineers report into your tech leads, follow your processes and use your tools. We hire, retain and pay them; you direct their work. A managed project means we own scope, timeline, quality and risk under a defined statement of work. The split matters for accountability - if you need 'a team to ship X by Y', that's managed delivery, not augmentation.

If your need is a single 6-week project, hiring contractors is cheaper than running an augmentation engagement.
